The project consists of the transformation and renovation of a house in Wemmel

The unsuitable and uncomfortable layout, as well as the small size of the living spaces, in the existing situation, led the owner to undertake a new project to transform his home.

The transformations are mainly focused on the rooms and rear facade of the house.

The rear volume of the ground floor, housing the living room, dining room and kitchen, will be transformed to maximize the living space, making it as fluid and bright as possible, and fully open to the garden.

A new upstairs space will house the new large master bedroom with dressing room and bathroom.

A new large terrace will be built on the roof of this new volume, offering a panoramic view of a large and beautiful green landscape.

This project was the subject of a request for a derogation regarding construction depths and was granted.

Indeed, the two adjoining neighbors were already in violation of urban planning regulations on this point.

Based on the arguments presented and defended, the municipality granted this request for exemption, which the owner was able to fully benefit from.

The architectural expression is intended to be understated, contemporary and without eccentricities, with large openings onto the landscape and in dialogue with the outside, benefiting from plenty of light.

The choice of red brick for the facade was determined to support the contemporary look of the house and to benefit from its undisputed durability properties.
